Specialists in Boiler Room Accessories

Penn Separator Corp. is a certified ASME Code Sec. VIII Div. 1 welding shop manufacturing boiler auxiliaries and pressure vessels since 1956. Penn have built vessels as large as 96" diameter and pressures to 1500 psig on smaller vessels. Penn is a leading supplier of Boiler Blowdown Separators and Flash Separators. Other items include Blowoff Tanks, Exhaust Heads and Silencers, Entrainment Separators, and Continuous Blowdown Heat Recovery Systems.

Blowdown Separators
Blowdown Separators
The modern and efficient way of handling boiler intermittent blowdown. The smaller diameter takes up less space then a traditional blowoff tank while providing an efficient separation of flash steam and condensate.
The tangential entry and small diameter creates a cyclone action to efficiently separate steam and condensate. The clean steam flows up through the vortex to the vent discharging quietly to atmosphere
Flash Separators
Flash Separators
Flash Tanks for Handling Condensate and Flash Steam Recovery
Penn Flash Separators use a tangential inlet and cyclonic action to instantly separate steam and condensate. The clean steam can be returned to a lower pressure saving valuable BTU's and makeup water. Return on investment can be in a matter of weeks.
Inline Separators
Inline Separators
Inline Centrifugal Entrainment Separators for Steam, air, and Other Gases

Penn Inline Separators create a centrifugal spinning action that separates out liquid entrainment droplets in steam, air, or other gases.
Two designs are available: The "T" type design with downward tangential inlet that directs the flow to the outside walls of the vessel creating a low pressure votex area that the clean flow follows to the centrally located outlet and the "straight thru" that uses a helical baffle to create the centrifugal separation.
BlowDown Heat Recovery Systems
BlowDown Heat Recovery Systems
Penn Crossover or Shell & Tube Continuous Blowdown Heat Recovery Systems can recover up to 95% of the continuous blowdown heat normally lost.
Two stages provide the recovery. The first stage uses a Penn Flash Separator where the high pressure condensate flashes to a low pressure steam use such as a feedwater heater or deaerator. The second area is a heat exchanger that transfers the remaining heat to boiler Make-up water.
